The Allegro Microsystems A8282SLBTR is a monolithic linear and switching voltage regulator specifically designed for LNB supply and control in analog and digital satellite receivers. It provides the necessary power and interface signals to the LNB down converter through the coaxial cable.

 

This regulator features an output voltage that can be set to 12V, 13V, 18V, or 20V via the VSEL terminals. It also includes a feature to increase the selected voltage by 1V to compensate for voltage drop in the coaxial cable. The device operates within a supply voltage range of 17.5V to 47V and has an output voltage range of -1V to 22V.

 

The A8282SLBTR is supplied in a 24-lead SOIC package with internally-fused leads for enhanced thermal dissipation. These fused leads are at ground potential and do not require electrical isolation. The device is intended for surface mount applications.

 

Key features include LNB selection and standby function, a built-in tone oscillator factory trimmed to 22 kHz for DiSEqC encoding, and a tracking switch-mode power converter for low dissipation. It also offers externally adjustable short-circuit protection, LNB short-circuit protection and diagnostics, an auxiliary modulation input, internal over-temperature protection, reverse-current protection, and cable length compensation.
