The Allegro Microsystems A6841SLWTR-20-T is an 8-bit serial input latched sink driver IC. It integrates low-power CMOS logic with bipolar output power drivers using the DABiC-5 fabrication process. Each device includes an eight-bit CMOS shift register, control circuitry, data latches, and eight bipolar current-sinking Darlington output drivers.

 

The NPN Darlington outputs can handle up to 500 mA and include integral transient-suppression diodes, making them suitable for driving relays, solenoids, and other inductive loads. The devices offer a minimum output-breakdown voltage rating of 50 V (35 V sustaining) and can operate with a split supply where the negative supply is up to –20 V. The logic supply range is 3.3 V to 5.5 V.

 

Inputs are CMOS and TTL compatible, with Schmitt trigger inputs for improved noise immunity. The A6841SLWTR-20-T is provided in a 20-pin wide-body SOIC package with improved thermal characteristics. These devices are lead (Pb) free with 100% matte tin plated leadframes.

 

Applications include driving relays, solenoids, and inductive loads. The serial data output allows drivers to be cascaded for interface applications requiring additional drive lines.
