The A5984GLPTR-T from Allegro Microsystems is a complete microstepping motor driver designed for bipolar stepper motors. It operates from a single supply voltage ranging from 8V to 40V and provides an output drive capacity of up to 2A.
This driver features a built-in translator for easy operation, supporting step modes from full-step up to 1/32 step. It utilizes a proprietary Adaptive Percent Fast Decay (APFD) algorithm to optimize the current waveform, reducing audible motor noise, vibration, and improving step accuracy. Key features include low RDS(on) outputs, short-to-ground, shorted load, and short-to-battery protection, along with thermal shutdown circuitry and internal UVLO.
