The A5191HRTPG-XTP is a single-chip CMOS modem designed for Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) field instruments and masters. It provides modulation, demodulation, receive filtering, carrier detect, and transmit-signal shaping functions with a few external passive components.
The modem uses phase continuous frequency shift keying (FSK) at 1200 bits per second, employing Bell 202 shift frequencies of 1200 Hz and 2200 Hz. It operates in half-duplex mode, with receive circuits disabled during transmit to conserve power. The supply voltage range is 3.0V to 5.5V, making it compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. An external 460.8 kHz crystal or ceramic resonator is required for the internal oscillator.
The device is designed for industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is available in a 28-pin PLCC (J-Lead) package, specifically the 28-PLCC (11.51x11.51 mm) supplier device package. The package is surface mount with J-Lead termination.
