The A5191HRTPG-XTD is a single-chip CMOS HART modem designed for highway addressable remote transducer (HART) field instruments and masters. It provides all functions needed to satisfy HART physical layer requirements including modulation, demodulation, receive filtering, carrier detect, and transmit-signal shaping.
It uses phase continuous frequency shift keying (FSK) at 1200 bits per second with Bell 202 shift frequencies of 1200 Hz and 2200 Hz. The modem operates from a 3.0 V to 5.5 V power supply and features half-duplex operation to conserve power. It includes an internal oscillator requiring a 460.8 kHz crystal or ceramic resonator.
The device is available in a 28-pin PLCC package (28-PLCC, 11.51x11.51 mm) with J-Lead configuration for surface mount assembly. It is Pb-Free and operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The modem is compatible with 3.3 V or 5 V microcontrollers.
Typical applications include HART multiplexers, HART modem interfaces, and 4-20 mA loop powered transmitters. The low power design makes it optimal for intrinsically safe applications.
