The A4984SLPTR-T from Allegro MicroSystems is a complete microstepping motor driver designed for bipolar stepper motors. It supports full, half, quarter, and eighth step modes, selectable via logic inputs.
This driver features an integrated translator for easy operation, requiring only one pulse on the STEP input to drive the motor one microstep. It includes automatic current decay mode detection and selection, offering both Mixed and Slow decay modes for reduced audible motor noise and improved step accuracy.
Key electrical specifications include an output drive capacity of up to 35V and ±2A, with a logic supply compatible with 3.3V and 5V systems. The device incorporates internal UVLO, crossover-current protection, thermal shutdown circuitry, and short-to-ground/load protection.
Packaged in a 24-TSSOP-EP with an exposed thermal pad, the A4984SLPTR-T is suitable for surface mount applications. It also offers a low current sleep mode with consumption below 10 µA.
