The Allegro MicroSystems A4911KJPTR-T-1 is an integrated N-channel power MOSFET driver specifically engineered for automotive applications, particularly those involving high-power inductive loads such as BLDC motors. It is capable of controlling MOSFETs configured in a three-phase bridge arrangement.
This driver operates within a supply voltage range of 5.5 V to 50 V. It features a unique charge pump regulator for low supply voltage operation and allows for a reduced gate drive down to 5.5 V. The gate drive voltage and strength are programmable, which aids in reducing EMC issues. A bootstrap capacitor is utilized to provide the necessary above-battery supply voltage for N-channel MOSFETs.
The A4911KJPTR-T-1 offers full control over all six power MOSFETs in the three-phase bridge, enabling motor drive with either block commutation or sinusoidal excitation. Integrated crossover control and optional programmable dead time protect the power MOSFETs from shoot-through conditions. The device includes three current sense amplifiers with programmable gain and offset, and an SPI-compatible serial interface for altering programmable settings and reading diagnostic information.
It is supplied in a 48-pin LQFP package with an exposed thermal pad (suffix JP). The package is lead (Pb) free with 100% matte-tin leadframe plating.
