The A3959SLPTR-T from Allegro Microsystems is a DMOS Full-Bridge PWM Motor Driver designed for pulse width modulated current control of DC motors. It is capable of handling output currents up to ±3 A and operating voltages up to 50 V.
This driver features internal fixed off-time PWM current-control timing circuitry that can be adjusted for slow, fast, and mixed current-decay modes. It includes PHASE and ENABLE input terminals for controlling motor speed and direction with external PWM signals. Internal synchronous rectification is incorporated to reduce power dissipation during PWM operation.
Protection features include thermal shutdown with hysteresis, undervoltage monitoring for supply and charge pump, and crossover-current protection. The A3959SLPTR-T is supplied in a 28-pin TSSOP package with an exposed thermal pad, suitable for surface mounting. The power pins and tabs are at ground potential and do not require electrical isolation.
