The Allegro Microsystems A2557ELB-T is a protected quad driver IC designed for cost-effective relay and solenoid driving applications. Each of its four outputs can sink up to 300 mA with a minimum breakdown voltage of 60 V and a sustaining voltage of 40 V.
This device incorporates independent overcurrent protection and thermal limiting for each driver, with overcurrent protection activated at a nominal 500 mA. It also includes fault-detection circuitry for open or shorted loads, providing a single FAULT output. A low-power Sleep Mode is available, reducing supply current to below 100 μA.
The A2557ELB-T is suitable for driving incandescent lamps where turn-on time is not critical. It features TTL- and 5 V CMOS-compatible inputs and integral output flyback/clamp diodes. The component is housed in a 16-SOIC package suitable for surface mounting.
