The A1280A-PG176M is a field-programmable gate array from the ACT 2 family, originally developed by Actel (now Microsemi). It integrates 8,000 system gates organized into 1,232 logic array blocks, providing flexible logic density for medium-complexity designs. The device offers 140 user-programmable I/O pins with a drive current of 10 mA, supporting a variety of interface standards.
Operating from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply, the FPGA achieves a maximum operating frequency of 75 MHz. It is fabricated using a 1.0 µm CMOS process with Actel's proprietary PLICE antifuse technology, ensuring nonvolatile, single-chip programmability and high reliability. The device is specified for the full military temperature range of -55°C to 125°C, making it suitable for harsh environments.
The A1280A-PG176M is housed in a 176-pin ceramic pin grid array (CPGA) package with a through-hole mounting style. The supplier device package is 176-CPGA (39.88x39.88 mm). This package provides robust mechanical and thermal performance for demanding applications. The device is part of the ACT 2 family, which offers predictable performance with 100% automatic placement and routing, and includes up to six fast, low-skew clock networks.
