This is a 32-position PLCC socket from the Mill-Max 940 series, designed for through-board mounting. It accepts JEDEC PLCCs meeting MS-016 and MS-018 standards for leaded plastic substrates. The socket features a closed frame design with an insulator made of glass reinforced PPS. Contacts are beryllium copper with a 150 µin tin/lead plating, providing reliable electrical connections. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C.
Key mechanical dimensions include standoff height of 0.130 inches (for heat dissipation and cleaning), PCB hole diameter of 0.035 inches, and solder pad diameter of 0.062 inches. The socket is not end stackable. An optional pre-lubricated version (suffix X=1) is available for long-life applications requiring resistance to fretting corrosion, per Bellcore GR-1217-CORE.
