The 8TQ100STRR is a Schottky rectifier diode from Vishay Dale, part of the 8TQ...S series. It is rated for a maximum reverse voltage of 100V and an average forward current of 8A at a case temperature of 157°C with 50% duty cycle. The forward voltage drop is typically 720mV at 8A and 25°C, dropping to 580mV at 125°C, enabling high efficiency in power conversion.
This diode features fast recovery speed (less than 500ns) and high surge current capability: 850A peak for a 5µs sine pulse. It can operate over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, with a maximum thermal resistance of 2.0°C/W from junction to case. The device includes a guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and is designed and qualified to Q101 level.
Typical applications include switching power supplies, converters, freewheeling diodes, and reverse battery protection. The package is a surface mount TO-263-3 (D2PAK) with two leads and a tab, weighing approximately 2 grams. Mounting torque should be between 6 and 12 kgf·cm.
