The VS-8EWS16S-M3 is a high voltage surface mount input rectifier diode from Vishay Semiconductors, designed for general purpose rectification in power supplies. It features a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 1600V and an average rectified current of 8A at 105°C case temperature with 180° conduction half sine wave. The forward voltage is typically 1.1V at 8A and 25°C, enabling efficient operation.
The diode is built with glass passivated pellet chip junction technology, ensuring reliable operation up to a maximum junction temperature of 150°C. It can handle non-repetitive peak surge currents up to 150A (10ms sine pulse) and has an I²t rating of 78 A²s for fuse coordination. Reverse leakage current is limited to 0.5mA maximum at 150°C with rated VRRM applied.
The device is housed in a DPAK (TO-252AA) surface mount package, which is suitable for automated assembly. It meets MSL level 1 per J-STD-020 and is RoHS3 compliant (typical for Vishay).
