The Vishay 8EWF02S is a fast soft recovery rectifier diode from the 8EWF..S series, designed for high-efficiency power conversion. With a maximum reverse voltage of 200V and average forward current of 8A, it delivers excellent switching performance. The forward voltage drop is typically 1.2V at 8A and 25°C, minimizing conduction losses. Reverse recovery time is 55ns typical at 1A (di/dt=100A/µs) and 140ns at 8A (di/dt=25A/µs), making it suitable for fast-switching applications.
The diode features a non-repetitive peak surge current of 170A and I²t ratings of 140 A²s with rated voltage reapplied, or 200 A²s without. Reverse leakage current is low (0.1mA at 25°C, 3mA max at 150°C). Glass passivation ensures stable operation under harsh temperature and power cycling conditions. The junction-to-case thermal resistance is 2.5°C/W. Package options include the surface-mount D-PAK (TO-252AA) with three leads and a tab. Operating temperature range covers -40°C to 150°C.
