The 3M 89150-0103 is a 50-position IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) socket receptacle designed for use with 0.050" pitch ribbon cable. It features a gray glass-filled polyester (PBT) housing with UL94 V-0 flammability rating and gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts with 30µin gold over 50µin nickel underplating in the wiping area.
This connector supports 26-28 AWG stranded wire and is rated for 1.25A per contact (28 AWG, all lines powered) up to 1.5A (26 AWG, all lines powered) with a maximum temperature rise of 30°C per EIA-364-070 Method 2, 20% derated. It offers >1 GΩ insulation resistance at 500V DC and a withstanding voltage of 1000V RMS at sea level.
The free hanging (in-line) mounting style features a double-recessed cover for cable termination from either side, military polarization options (with or without center bump), and optional strain relief. It is preassembled and packaged on swords for easy loading into manual or semi-automatic assembly equipment.
