The 3M 89140-0101HA is a 40 position IDC ribbon cable socket from the 891 Series. It features a receptacle connector type with 2 rows of contacts on a 2.54mm pitch and 2.54mm row spacing. The socket is designed for free hanging (in-line) mounting and terminates ribbon cable via IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection).
Contacts are made of phosphor bronze with a gold finish (15.0µin / 0.38µm) over nickel underplating. The housing is molded from glass filled polyester (PBT) with a UL94 V-0 flammability rating and is gray in color. The socket accommodates 26 to 28 AWG stranded wire.
Electrical ratings include an insulation resistance greater than 1 GΩ at 500 V DC, a withstanding voltage of 1000V RMS at sea level, and current ratings up to 3.5 A per line (26 AWG, single line powered). The socket includes feed through and polarizing key features for alignment.
