The 8520-4500PL is a 20 position receptacle from 3M's 8500 Series of polarized boardmount sockets. It features a glass filled polyester (PBT) insulator with a UL 94V-0 flammability rating and gray color. The contacts are made of copper alloy with a 0.3µm gold finish on the wiping area.
This connector supports board-to-board or cable connections with a push-pull fastening type and a polarizing key for proper alignment. It is rated for 1A current and 1000V voltage with an insulation resistance greater than 1×10⁹ Ω at 500 VDC. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 105°C.
The through hole mounting with kinked pin, solder termination provides secure board retention during wave soldering processes. The part is designed to mate with low profile shrouded headers and the 4600 Series plug connector without ejector latches.
