The 3M 8520-4500JL is a 20-position, 2-row, 2.54mm pitch polarized boardmount socket from the 8500 Series. It features through-hole mounting with solder termination and a push-pull fastening type. The gray glass filled polyester (PBT) insulation is rated UL 94V-0 for flame retardancy. Contacts are copper alloy with gold plating (0.3µm over 2µm nickel underplating). Electrical ratings include 1A current, 1000V voltage, withstanding voltage of 1000 VRMS at sea level, and insulation resistance greater than 1×10⁹ ohms at 500 VDC. Operating temperature range is -55°C to 105°C. Process ratings support wave soldering at 260°C for 10 seconds and soldering iron at 390°C for 3 seconds. A polarizing key ensures correct alignment. This connector is designed to mate with low profile shrouded headers and 3M 4600 Series plug connectors without ejector latches.
