The 8452-11B1-RK-TP from 3M Electronic Solutions is a low-profile, four-row PLCC socket from the 8400 series. It accepts chip carriers conforming to JEDEC outlines MO-047 (square) and MO-052 (rectangular), and is designed for through-hole mounting on PCBs. The socket has 52 positions on a 1.27mm (0.050") pitch and uses solder termination.
The socket's open top design allows unrestricted airflow over the installed device, and molded slots ease extraction. Contacts are copper alloy with 160µin (4.06µm) matte tin on the wiping area over a 50µin (1.27µm) nickel underplating. The glass-filled PBT housing is rated UL 94V-0 and operates from -40°C to +105°C.
This component is suitable for wave soldering only and is not intended for reflow solder processes. It is RoHS compliant per datasheet RIA E1 and C1. Typical use includes socketing PLCC ICs in automated assembly environments that require a reliable, field-replaceable connection.
