The 3M 8309-6000 is part of the 8300 Series D-Sub socket connectors. It features a 9-position, 2-row layout with a DE (E) shell size. The connector uses female sockets with a copper alloy contact material plated with 30 µin of gold on the wiping area over a 50 µin minimum nickel underplating. It is terminated via IDC for 26 or 28 AWG solid or stranded ribbon cable.
The connector is mounted to a panel using an unthreaded housing/shell flange. The steel shell is tin plated, and the insulator is glass filled polyester (PBT) rated UL94 V-0.
