The 3M 8250-6005 is a 50-position D-Sub plug connector from the 8250 series. It features a 3-row configuration with male pins and is designed for panel mounting. Termination is via IDC for ribbon cable, accommodating 26 and 28 AWG solid or stranded wire.
The connector uses a steel shell with bright nickel plating and a glass-filled PBT insulator rated UL94 V-0. Contacts are copper alloy with 30 μin gold plating over 100 μin nickel underplating. Electrical ratings include a current rating of 1 A, insulation resistance greater than 1 × 10^9 Ω at 500 V DC, and withstanding voltage of 1,000 V RMS at sea level. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +105°C.
Features include feed through and grounding indents for EMI/ESD protection. The flange feature uses housing/shell 4-40 threaded inserts. This connector is suitable for applications requiring a reliable high-density D-Sub interface.
