The 8.0SMDJ64CA is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 64 V and a clamping voltage of 103 V at the peak pulse current of 77.7 A. With a peak pulse power rating of 8000 W (8 kW) under a 10/1000μs waveform, this component offers robust transient suppression for demanding applications.
This TVS diode is housed in a compact DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package, enabling efficient board space utilization. It provides fast response time of less than 1.0 ps and features a glass passivated chip junction for reliability. The device is rated for operating junction temperatures from -65°C to 150°C and offers ESD protection up to 30 kV (air and contact) per IEC-61000-4-2, as well as EFT protection per IEC-61000-4-4.
The 8.0SMDJ64CA is suitable for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications. It is halogen free, RoHS compliant, and has a Pb-free E3 terminal finish with matte tin plating. The device meets MSL level 1 and has a UL recognized flammability rating of V-0.
