The 8.0SMDJ45CA is a bidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a reverse standoff voltage of 45V and a maximum clamping voltage of 72.7V at a peak pulse current of 110.1A (10/1000μs waveform). With a peak pulse power dissipation of 8000W, it provides robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
This device features a fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, ensuring rapid clamping of transients. It is rated for ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 with 30kV air and contact discharge. The TVS diode is housed in a compact DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package, suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and MSL level 1.
The 8.0SMDJ45CA is part of the 8.0SMDJ series and is ideal for protecting data lines and power supplies in space-constrained designs. Its glass passivated chip junction ensures reliability, and the matte tin lead-free plating meets Pb-free requirements.
