The Murata 78SR-5/2-C is a step-down switching regulator designed as a high-efficiency replacement for linear regulators. It delivers a nominal 5V output at 2A with up to 95% efficiency, reducing heat dissipation. It operates from a wide input voltage range of 8V to 32V.
The regulator uses a synchronous rectifier buck topology with a 200kHz switching frequency. Line regulation is ±0.35% and load regulation ±0.25%. It includes over-temperature protection (OTP) and short circuit protection (SCP).
Housed in a 3-SIP through-hole module, it measures 20.3mm x 8.4mm x 21.6mm. No external capacitors are required for operation. The device is rated for -40°C to +70°C ambient temperature with no derating.
It is suitable for commercial ITE applications and serves as a drop-in replacement for many 78xx series linear regulators and other switching regulators like 78HT2, 78SR1, 78ST1, and PT5100 series.
