The Toshiba 74VHC74FT is an advanced high-speed CMOS dual D-type flip-flop fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology. It achieves high-speed operation similar to equivalent Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining low CMOS power dissipation.
The D input is transferred to the Q output during the positive-going transition of the clock pulse. The Clear and Preset functions are independent of the clock and are accomplished by setting the appropriate input low. An input protection circuit allows 0 to 5.5 V to be applied to the input pins without regard to the supply voltage, enabling interface between 5 V and 3 V systems.
This flip-flop features a wide operating voltage range from 2.0 V to 5.5 V and operates across a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It offers a maximum clock frequency of 170 MHz at 5.0 V and a low quiescent current of 2 µA at 25°C. The device is supplied in a 14-TSSOP package, suitable for surface mounting.
