It is fabricated with silicon gate CMOS technology and includes an input protection circuit that allows 0 V to 5.5 V to be applied to the input pins without regard to the supply voltage, enabling interface between 5 V and 3 V systems. The 74VHC595M is pin and function compatible with the 74HC595.

 

Designed for surface mounting, the 74VHC595M comes in a 16-SOIC package (0.154", 3.90mm Width).
