The 74VHC157MX from ON Semiconductor is an advanced high-speed CMOS Quad 2-Channel Multiplexer. Fabricated with silicon gate CMOS technology, it achieves high-speed operation similar to equivalent Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining low CMOS power dissipation.
This device consists of four 2-input digital multiplexers with common select and enable inputs. When the ENABLE input is held high, data selection is inhibited, and all outputs become low. The SELECT decoding determines whether the I0x or I1x inputs are routed to their corresponding outputs. An input protection circuit allows 0V to 5.5V to be applied to the input pins without regard to the supply voltage, enabling interface between 5V and 3V systems.
