The 74LVT244A and 74LVTH244A series from NXP are 3.3V octal buffer/line drivers designed for bus interface applications. These devices feature 3-state outputs controlled by two output enables (1OE and 2OE), allowing them to be used as two 4-bit buffers or one 8-bit buffer. A high signal on the output enable pin forces the outputs into a high-impedance OFF-state.
Key electrical characteristics include a wide supply voltage range from 2.7V to 3.6V, overvoltage tolerant inputs up to 5.5V, and output current capabilities of +64 mA and -32 mA. The devices are specified for operation over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. They also feature BiCMOS technology for high speed and output drive, and IOFF circuitry for partial power-down mode operation.
Bus hold data inputs are included to eliminate the need for external pull-up resistors for unused inputs. The 74LVT244AD is available in a 20-lead SOIC package with a body width of 7.5 mm. Live insertion and extraction are permitted, and the device exhibits power-up 3-state behavior.
