The 74HCT138N by PORTUGAL is a versatile 3-to-8 line decoder and demultiplexer IC. It accepts three binary weighted address inputs and provides 8 mutually exclusive active LOW outputs. The device features three enable inputs (two active LOW, one active HIGH), facilitating easy parallel expansion to larger decoding functions.
This decoder is ideal for memory chip select decoding and can also function as an eight-output demultiplexer. It is specified for operation across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The 74HCT138N is pin-compatible with Low-power Schottky TTL (LSTTL) and comes in a DIP16 package.
Key electrical characteristics include input capacitance of 3.5 pF and power dissipation capacitance of 67 pF.
