This integrated circuit contains an 8-bit static shift register that feeds an 8-bit storage register. Shift operations occur on the positive-going transition of the SCK input, and the output register is loaded with the shift register's contents on the positive-going transition of the RCK input. Independent RCK and SCK signals allow parallel outputs to remain stable during shifting. The 3-state parallel outputs enable direct connection to an 8-bit bus, making it suitable for serial-to-parallel conversion and data receiver applications.

 

Key features include a maximum operating frequency of 55 MHz at 5V, low power dissipation with a maximum quiescent current of 4.0 µA at 25°C, and balanced propagation delays. The device operates over a wide voltage range of 2.0V to 6.0V.
