The Toshiba 74HC164D is a high-speed CMOS 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register. Fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology, it achieves high-speed operation while maintaining low power dissipation.
This IC features a serial data input and a parallel output, with a clock input (CK) and an overriding clear input (CLR). It has two serial data inputs (A, B), allowing one to be used as a data enable. The device operates over a wide voltage range of 2.0V to 6.0V and can achieve a maximum clock frequency of 58 MHz at 5V.
Designed for surface mounting, the 74HC164D comes in a 14-SOP package. Its low power dissipation, with a maximum supply current of 4.0 µA at 25°C, makes it suitable for various digital applications where efficiency is important.
