The 74F245SC by Fairchild Semiconductor is an octal bidirectional transceiver designed for bus-oriented applications. It contains eight non-inverting buffers with 3-STATE outputs, facilitating bidirectional data flow.
The transceiver offers a current sinking capability of 24mA at the A Ports and 64mA at the B Ports. The direction of data flow is controlled by the Transmit/Receive (T/R) input. Transmit (active HIGH) enables data from A Ports to B Ports, while Receive (active LOW) enables data from B Ports to A Ports. The Output Enable input, when HIGH, disables both A and B Ports by placing them in a High Z condition.
This device is available in a 20-Lead Small Outline Integrated Circuit (SOIC) package, suitable for surface mount applications. It is also noted as being lead-free per JEDEC J-STD-020B standard.
