The Würth Elektronik 74990111217 is a single-port RJ45 modular connector jack with integrated magnetics, designed for 10/100 Base-T Ethernet applications meeting IEEE 802.3u. This through hole, right-angle (90°) component simplifies PCB layout by combining the connector and magnetics in one package.
Electrical performance includes a 1:1 turns ratio for both Tx and Rx channels, with an open circuit inductance (OCL) of 350 µH typical at 100kHz. The insertion loss is a maximum of -1.0 dB from 1 to 100MHz, and return loss meets minimum levels of -18 dB (1-10MHz), -16 dB (10-30MHz), -12 dB (30-60MHz), and -10 dB (60-80MHz). Common mode rejection and crosstalk are both a minimum of -30 dB across the frequency range. The part supports AutoMDIX and has a hipot test rating of 1500 Vrms for 1 minute.
The connector is fully shielded with an EMI finger and has a board guide feature. The housing is made of thermoplastic UL-94V0, with contacts having 100% tin with nickel underplating and 30 µin gold plating on the contact area. The shield is 50 µin nickel over 0.01 in copper alloy. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
