The 715C10DKS20 is a high voltage ceramic DC disc capacitor from the 715C series, manufactured by VISHAY/BC (Vishay Cera-Mite). It offers a nominal capacitance of 0.02 µF (20 nF) with a wide tolerance of -20% to +80% and is rated for 10,000 V DC (3.5 kV RMS at 60 Hz). The Y5U Class 2 ceramic dielectric provides stable performance over the operating temperature range of -30°C to +85°C.
Key electrical characteristics include a low dissipation factor of ≤20×10⁻³ measured at 1 kHz, high insulation resistance of minimum 200,000 MΩ at 25°C, and a dielectric strength of 150% of rated voltage (charging current limited to 50 mA). The corona limit is <5 pC at 50% rated AC voltage, and power dissipation should be limited to a 20°C rise above ambient on the case. The capacitor is well-suited for high voltage applications such as power supplies, CO₂ lasers, X-ray equipment, welding equipment, and industrial systems.
