The TE Connectivity 640599-3 is a 3-position rectangular power connector assembly from the MTA 156 series. It is a receptacle connector designed for wire-to-board applications with a free hanging (in-line) mounting style. The connector features a 3.96mm (0.156 inch) centerline pitch and accepts 18 AWG discrete or ribbon cable via insulation displacement crimp (IDC) termination.
Electrical ratings include a maximum contact current of 7A and an operating voltage of 600VAC. The housing is made of orange nylon with a UL 94V-2 flammability rating. Contacts are female sockets with a copper alloy base, nickel underplating, and a matte tin-lead mating area plating (2.03µm thickness). The connector includes a locking ramp fastening type and a strain relief feature. It is not sealable and has a cable exit angle of 90 degrees.
