The 5KP24A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse's 5KP series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. With a reverse standoff voltage of 24V and a clamping voltage of 38.9V, it can handle peak pulse currents up to 131.1A for a 10/1000μs waveform, dissipating a peak pulse power of 5000W (5kW).
This diode features a fast response time of typically less than 1ps, making it suitable for high-speed transient protection. It is housed in a P600 axial leaded package, suitable for through-hole mounting. The device can operate over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 175°C and has a steady state power dissipation of 8.0W with an infinite heat sink.
