The 5KP10A is a 5kW transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse Inc., part of the 5KP series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. This unidirectional diode features a reverse standoff voltage of 10V and a maximum clamping voltage of 17V at a peak pulse current of 300A (10/1000µs waveform).
With a peak pulse power dissipation of 5000W (5kW), the 5KP10A offers robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC buses, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications. It has a fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage and low dynamic resistance. The device also meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD requirements (30kV air and contact discharge).
The 5KP10A is housed in a P600 axial leaded package for through-hole mounting. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. The diode is halogen free, RoHS compliant, and has a UL flammability rating of V-0. It also features a peak forward surge current of 400A (8.3ms) and a maximum forward voltage of 3.5V (single die) at 100A.
