The Unitrode 5962-89905012A is a High Speed PWM Controller optimized for demanding switched mode power supply applications. It supports practical operation at switching frequencies up to 1.0MHz and features a fast 50ns propagation delay to the output.
This controller is designed for compatibility with both voltage-mode and current-mode topologies, offering input voltage feed-forward capability. Protection features include pulse-by-pulse current limiting, soft start, and maximum duty cycle control. An under-voltage lockout with hysteresis ensures low start-up current, and the output remains high impedance during lockout.
The device includes a trimmed bandgap reference of 5.1V ±1% and a high current totem pole output capable of sourcing and sinking 1.5A peak current, suitable for driving power MOSFET gates. It is housed in a 20-pin LCCC (FK) package and operates across a wide temperature range of -55 to 125°C.
