The Schurter 5500.2017 is a single phase, single stage EMC line filter designed for PCB mounting in a flat thermoplastic housing. It is rated for 2.5A continuous current with a voltage rating of 250VAC at 50Hz (IEC) and 125VAC at 60Hz (UL/CSA).
The filter provides standard attenuation for conducted interference, with a leakage current of less than 0.25mA at 250V/60Hz. Dielectric strength exceeds 1.7kVDC between line and neutral, and 2.7kVDC between line/neutral and protective earth. The operating temperature range is -25°C to 85°C.
It is suitable for use in equipment according to IEC/UL 62368-1 and is designed for protection class I applications. The housing is made of thermoplastic rated UL 94V-0, and terminals are tin-plated for reliable soldering. A medical version with lower leakage current (<5µA) is also available.
