The Schurter 5500.2001 is a single-phase, single-stage EMI line filter designed for PCB mounting. It is rated for 1 A at 125 VAC or 250 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and provides standard attenuation for general-purpose applications. The filter features a 10 mH inductance and a maximum leakage current of 0.25 mA at 250 V/60 Hz in the standard version; medical versions with lower leakage are available in the series. Dielectric strength is greater than 1.7 kVDC between line and neutral and greater than 2.7 kVDC between line/neutral and protective earth.
Rated for operation from -25°C to 85°C, the filter carries a climatic category of 25/085/21 per IEC 60068-1. It is suitable for protection class I equipment according to IEC 61140. The thermoplastic housing is rated UL 94V-0 and the tin-plated PC pins allow through-hole soldering. Approvals include cURus, ENEC, and VDE, and the component is RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and has an MSL of 1. MTBF exceeds 200,000 hours per MIL-HB-217 F.
Its compact, cost-saving plastic housing makes it suitable for standard applications where protection against mains interference is required. Applications include general-purpose power supply and appliance filtering in equipment per IEC/UL 62368-1.
