This heat shrink tubing is a flexible, black polyolefin (PO) tubing designed for insulation and protection of wires and components. It features a 2:1 shrink ratio, shrinking to half its supplied diameter when heated to 95°C. The tubing has a pre-shrink inner diameter of 0.031 inches (0.79 mm) and a recovered wall thickness of 0.017 inches (0.43 mm).
The irradiated polyolefin material provides good electrical insulation and mechanical protection. The tubing operates over a temperature range of -55°C to 135°C, making it suitable for a variety of environments. Storage conditions are recommended between 32°F and 95°F (0°C to 35°C).
Typical applications include insulating wire splices, providing strain relief, and bundling small wires in automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics assemblies. The tubing is supplied in a flexible form and can be cut to length as needed.
