The 5.0SMDJ60A is a 5000W unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse Inc. designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 60V and a clamping voltage of 96.8V. The device can handle a peak pulse current of 51.7A under a 10/1000µs waveform.
This TVS diode offers a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage minimum. It also provides a peak forward surge current capability of 300A for an 8.3ms single half sine wave. The maximum instantaneous forward voltage at 100A is 5.0V for unidirectional operation.
The 5.0SMDJ60A is housed in a DO-214AB (SMCJ) surface mount package, making it suitable for compact PCB designs. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. The device is halogen free, RoHS compliant, and Pb-free E3. It is recognized to UL 497B as an Isolated Loop Circuit Protector and has UL recognition for flammability rating V-0.
