The Littelfuse 5.0SMDJ24A is a 5000W surface mount transient voltage suppression diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 24V and a clamping voltage of 38.9V at a peak pulse current of 129A under a 10/1000μs waveform. The device offers a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage.
This TVS diode is unidirectional with a Zener technology, providing 30kV ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 for both air and contact discharge. It is housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount package with a junction-to-lead thermal resistance of 15°C/W and an operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
The 5.0SMDJ24A is ideal for protecting I/O interfaces, VCC buses, and other circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications. It is halogen-free, RoHS compliant (Pb-free E3), and UL recognized with a V-0 flammability rating.
