The 3M 4816-3000-CP is a 16-position DIP socket from the 4800 series, featuring stamped and formed dual-wipe contacts for reliable termination. It is designed for through-hole mounting with a 2.54mm pitch and 0.3" (7.62mm) row spacing.
Electrically, the socket is rated for 1A continuous current, with an insulation resistance of 5,000 MΩ at 500 V DC and a withstanding voltage of 100 V AC for 1 minute. The contacts are made of phosphor bronze with a minimum 135 μin matte tin surface plating over a 35 μin nickel underplating.
Mechanically, the socket accepts pin diameters of 0.010" to 0.011" and pin lengths of 0.100" to 0.130". Insertion force is 340 g max per contact, and withdrawal force is 80 g min per contact. The housing is glass-filled polyester with UL 94V-0 flammability rating, and the operating temperature range is -25°C to 85°C. The socket is suitable for wave solder processes only, with a maximum temperature of 260°C.
