The 40CTQ045 is a dual Schottky rectifier from Vishay High Power Products, configured as a common cathode pair. Each leg is rated for 20A average rectified current at 116°C case temperature, with a total device rating of 40A. The maximum reverse voltage is 45V. Forward voltage is as low as 0.48V at 20A and 125°C, enabling high efficiency. The device features a guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long-term reliability, and is designed for operation up to 150°C junction temperature. It can handle non-repetitive peak surge currents up to 1240A (5µs sine) and 350A (10ms sine), and has an avalanche energy rating of 20mJ per leg. Typical applications include output rectification in switching power supplies, DC-DC converters, freewheeling diodes, and reverse battery protection. The part is offered in a through-hole TO-220-3 package, suitable for industrial-level designs.
