The Adafruit 4022 is a breakout board featuring the MLX90393 wide-range magnetometer from Melexis. It measures magnetic fields in three axes (X, Y, Z) with 16-bit resolution, providing high sensitivity across a programmable measurement range from ±5 mT to ±50 mT. This makes it ideal for detecting strong magnetic fields from permanent magnets rather than Earth's weak field.
The board communicates via I²C (serial interface) with a user-adjustable address, allowing up to four sensors on a single bus. It operates from 3V to 5V supply voltage and includes level shifting for compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers.
