The 3KP7.5CA is a 3000W axial-lead TVS diode from Littelfuse's 3KP series, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a bidirectional configuration with a reverse standoff voltage of 7.5V, a maximum clamping voltage of 12.9V at 232.6A peak pulse current, and a peak pulse power dissipation of 3000W (10/1000μs waveform).
The device utilizes a glass passivated chip junction in a P600 through-hole package, providing fast response time (typically <1.0ps) and excellent clamping capability. It is rated for operation from -55°C to 175°C junction temperature, with a steady-state power dissipation of 7.0W at 75°C lead temperature.
Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The 3KP7.5CA is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and meets ESD immunity requirements of 30kV air/contact discharge per IEC 61000-4-2.
The reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) is 7.5V.
The maximum clamping voltage is 12.9V at 232.6A peak pulse current.
The peak pulse current (IPP) is 232.6A for a 10/1000μs waveform.
The minimum peak pulse power is 3000W for a 10/1000μs waveform, with a duty cycle of 0.01%.
The typical response time is less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage minimum.
The ESD rating is 30kV for both air and contact discharge per IEC 61000-4-2.
The device is available in a P600 through-hole axial package.
