The Littelfuse 3KP33A is a 3000W unidirectional transient voltage suppression diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a Zener type technology with a single unidirectional channel and a reverse standoff voltage of 33V.
Key electrical specifications include a clamping voltage of 53.3V at 56.3A peak pulse current, a fast response time of less than 1.0ps, and a peak pulse power rating of 3000W for a 10/1000μs waveform. The device also offers a steady state power dissipation of 7W on an infinite heat sink and a forward surge current capability of 300A (8.3ms half sine wave).
The 3KP33A is housed in a P600 through-hole axial package with matte tin lead-free plating. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C, with typical thermal resistance of 8.0°C/W junction to lead and 40°C/W junction to ambient. The glass passivated chip junction ensures excellent clamping performance.
The device is RoHS compliant, halogen free, and lead free. It is suitable for general purpose applications including protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus lines, telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics against lightning-induced transients.
