The Littelfuse 3KP18CA is a 3000W bidirectional transient voltage suppression diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a clamping voltage of 29.2V and can handle a peak pulse current of 102.7A under a 10/1000μs waveform. The device features a fast response time of less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, ensuring rapid clamping of transients.
This TVS diode utilizes a glass passivated chip junction in the P600 axial package, providing excellent clamping capability and reliability. It is compliant with RoHS and halogen free standards, and is rated for ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, with typical thermal resistance of 8.0°C/W junction-to-lead and 40°C/W junction-to-ambient.
Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic equipment. The through-hole mounting allows for robust mechanical attachment in high-reliability designs.
