The 3KP170CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse's 3KP series, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a peak pulse power dissipation of 3000W for a 10/1000μs waveform, with a reverse standoff voltage of 170V and a clamping voltage of 275V at a peak pulse current of 10.9A.
This TVS diode employs a glass passivated chip junction in a P600 package, providing fast response time typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage. It features excellent clamping capability and is rated for operating junction temperatures from -55°C to 175°C. The device supports ESD protection up to 30kV (air and contact) per IEC 61000-4-2 and is EFT protected per IEC 61000-4-4.
Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic products. The through-hole axial leaded package allows for robust mounting on printed circuit boards.
The reverse standoff voltage (V_RWM) is 170V.
The clamping voltage (V_C) is 275V.
The peak pulse current (I_PP) is 10.9A for a 10/1000μs waveform.
It uses a P600 axial leaded package for through-hole mounting.
The device is listed as RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and halogen free with Pb-free E3 termination.
The operating junction and storage temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
Yes, it provides ESD protection of 30kV (air) and 30kV (contact) per IEC 61000-4-2.
